I started out by dyeing beautiful silk scarves, and this has grown to incorporate wraps and sarongs as well as ever-popular neckerchiefs.
There are many different sizes of scarves, some long, some square, some bigger, some smaller…..always pure silk. A silk scarf in stunning combinations of colours can be a signature to an outfit. Whether it is to accompany a wedding outfit, or whether it is worn with an everyday outfit, a silk scarf will always add an element of style and elegance……and hopefully add something special to your day.

Silk Jersey Cowls are of an amazing silk jersey fabric – the silk fibre is knitted rather than woven, and so has a different feel to it; to wear it has the amazing qualities of silk – it keeps you comfortable without heating you up, and is soft and so comfortable to wear. Silk Jersey Cowls can be worn once around the neck loosely, or twice around as a cowl with glorious colours and soft draping. So comfortable and so glamorous.
Silk and Cashmere Infinity Scarves have proved to be very popular. The softness and lightness of the pure Nepalese cashmere lined with the wonderful smoothness of pure silk is just amazing. These Silk and Cashmere Infinity Scarves are gentle, warm, glamorous and comfortable – and in glorious colours. These are a generous length and so can be worn twice or three times around your neck.
Pure Silk Double-Layer Infinity Scarves are stunning, and will enhance the smartest of outfits. However they are also so soft and comfortable to wear, adding a touch of glamour to any outfit……and making you feel so very special.
All scarves can be custom made to your own measurement and colours.
A recent addition to the Sunbird Silks range has been handmade Silk Bead Necklaces. Each necklace is unique, using silk dyed at Sunbird Silks. The wooden beads are a wonderful contrast, and complement the silk so effectively. I make them long with a tie fastening so that they can be adjusted to a suitable length for any outfit.
The Silken Dreamer Sleeping Bags are designed and sewn by me. They are a generous size in width and length so that you can pull them up over your ears, and turn over easily in the night. Each Silken Dreamer comes with its own matching silk pillow-case. This can also be used as a bag to store it in. They are light and easy to carry, and will take little room in your luggage.
Sleeping in a Silken Dreamer Sleeping Bag is just a dream…..not too warm, not too cool…. just right. They can be used inside a sleeping bag, or separately on the top of a bed. You may use yours when you stay in a hotel, or you may use it when you are camping! They are wonderful for long haul flights when you can use them to keep you warm and comfortable. I have sold them as far away as a little inlet in Alaska – and hopefully they are offering comfort and sweet dreams.
All our Silk Pillowcases are hand-sewn at Sunbird Silks using the finest pure silk satin, and pure silk thread. They are then hand-dyed in blends of amazing colours – customisation is welcomed. Sleeping on fine silk is the most divine feeling, and is also good for the condition of your skin. A great gift for someone special.
